4 things you didn\’t notice about Rajinikanth\’s Kaala – First Look | Currently Globally Cinema
Rajinikanth is a phenomenon. A Superstar. Thalaivar (Leader in Tamil).
His craze among his diehard fans, the opening his movies evoke, the expectations he set with just a first look poster is unmatchable and he always proves why he is the only superstar of Tamil cinema. Kaala is his recent movie venture directed by Pa. Ranjith, who directed Kabali, the recent work of Rajini. This movie is produced by Dhanush\’s Wunderbar Studios and has Santhosh Narayanan to take care of the music department, Murali.G for cinematography and National award winner Sreekar Prasad takes care of the editing.
First look posters have released recently and the ferocious looking Rajini leaves his fans crazy and in another poster, the charismatic actor sits on a jeep with Mumbai\’s poor-ridden Tharavi as background.
Let us now see 5 interesting things you probably have missed about Kaala\’s name and first look posters.
1. The name Kaala has many different meanings and all meanings seem to relate to this movie.
- The God of Death is known as Kaalan in Tamil. Kaala seems to be a shorter form of that name and also, for a fearsome Don Rajinikanth is said to be playing, this is an apt name.
- The movie has a tagline \”Karikalan\” which is referring to Karikala Chozhan, a famous Chola king and is famously remembered for building Kallanai, a grand stone dam near Trichirappalli. Hence, Kaala could be said to be a reference to the great ruler.
- Kaala means Black color in Hindi and as most South Indians are mocked to be dark-skinned in North Indians, this movie could refer a dark-skinned South Indian winning against all the odds.
4. The first look poster background has hidden depths and meanings.
It is no secret that the superstar is about to take his first step towards politics and the charismatic man is about to become a charismatic leader too and this movie seems to be a pointer towards that direction and this first look poster proves it too.
The first look poster has Mumbai\’s poor-ridden Tharavi as its background and among all the cities in India, Mumbai is one city where you can clearly visualize the rich-poor partiality and distant tall buildings of Tharavi symbolizes it. Also, we could see that the sun rises behind Rajinikanth and the darkness that is surrounding the buildings is engulfed by the light and the lead character is in the center of this process. You could consider this as the baseline of the movie\’s story, a man who brings light to the oppressed and suppressed or you can see it symbolizing a real leader in making and someone who can actually get rid of the darkness that prevails.
Kudos to the director and his creative team for such detailing just in a movie\’s first look poster. Now, if this much of energy is put into a poster, how much would have been put into the actual story and movie. This is exciting and Currently Globally eagerly awaits for future updates and wishes the whole team for a smashing success.
