Top 5 Tamil songs of Shreya Ghoshal
3, Munbe Vaa
Movie: Sillunu Oru Kadhal (2006)
Music: A.R. Rahman
Lyrics: Vaal
Love song and A.R. Rahman. Do we need to tell more? With lovely lyrics by the super-talented uber-cool Vaali, Shreya does a cake walk. She even tries the supposed tongue twisters of Tamil easily and pronounces the complicated Tamil words better than native Tamil speakers. We know for sure most of you would have tried singing the rhyming, \”Poo vaithaai Poo vaithaai\” lyrics like Shreya and failed miserably and realizing what a talent Shreya is.
Also, the song features all versions of \”la, zha\” which are difficult for most Tamil speakers even today. But, Shreya being a talented singer she is, would have sung them clearly and correctly as possible, showing her dedication.
A feel good song with a lyrics that Tamil professors would even be proud of.
Our favorite lines (Sung by Shreya):
\”Poo vaithaai Poo vaithaai, Nee Poovaikor Poovaithaai, mana poo vaithu poo vaithu, poovaikul thee vaithaai.\”
(For better understanding: Poo means flower & Poovai means girl in Tamil. The lines roughly mean, you kept a flower to the girl, you keep on keeping the fragrant flower on the girl and made her rage in fire of love.)
\”Thozhi oru sila naazhi, Thani ena aanal tharaiyinil meen\”
(Meaning: If I am alone for few moments without you, I become like a fish left in land.)
\”Naan Saayum tholgalil veraarum saainthaale thaguma\”
