Livin\’ Tamil Web Series – Episode 3 – Everybody Loves Bread Upma Review | Kanna Ravi, Amrutha Srinivasan | Madras Central | Currently Globally Web Series
Madras Central\’s Livin\’ has come out with the next episode – \”Everybody loves bread upma\” and we have reviewed the Prabhuram Vyas\’s directorial rom-com drama and read below for the same and avoid the recap section if you don\’t want any spoilers.
Recap:
The light-hearted episode begins with Harish (Kanna Ravi) reminding Haritha (Amrutha Srinivasan) that it\’s her turn to cook for the night and amidst their romance enters Manohar Uncle (P.T. Ramesh – Stage actor based on Chennai), the landlord and in spite of Harish\’s failed attempts, he meets Haritha and comes to know about their living in arrangement.
Harish leaves for work and he has a long day at work along with his assistant Siddharth (Abhishek Beckham). Following which, he returns home, only to find that there is no Chicken Tikka as expected and Haritha has gone out for a stand-up comedy show. Dejected Harish\’s hunger is satiated by Haritha with her Bread Upma recipe.
What works out?
As usual, the cast is impeccable and more than the macho yet sensible Harish and Quirky, slight nerdy Haritha, Manohar Uncle steals the show with his innocent characterisation and modern thinking. Ramesh P.T. has brought out a relatable and known-to-many retired government servant uncle.
BGM by Girishh Gopalakrishnan is getting better and better with each episode and the Swaram-based BGM at the end takes things a notch above.
No Sam – So that we can have more of Amrutha\’s adorable Haritha on screen.
BTW, Prabhuram Vyas for wonderful metaphors like \”Independence and exploitation for 300 years\” in Thaen Unchained and similarly, Shakespeares Petruchio from Taming of a Shrew. See Wiki for more about Petruchio.
What doesn\’t work out?
Again, No Sam – As we miss the endearing nerd\’s quirky dialogues and sloth looks.
Lesser run-time – As the episode seemed like an excerpt from the life of Harish and Haritha instead of taking the story any further.
Our Verdict:
A light-hearted episode with realistic performances and relatable storyline for any living in couple and mostly newly-wed couples and special mention to Manohar Uncle\’s characterisation and P.T. Ramesh\’s acting. Kudos to Madras Central for bankrolling such a quality content once again.
