Rangoon Tamil Movie Trailer Review | Gautham Karthik, Sana | Currently Globally Trailer Review

Atho. Bejo. Moinga.

You would have heard of these words and would definitely have tasted it if you were in Chennai. These are yummy Burmese dishes available in most roadside Burmese shops in Chennai and are hugely popular too. Mostly, these shops are owned by Burmese Tamil lads who are descendants of Tamils who lived in Burma (Myanmar) and came to India during Rangoon War.

We have had a long history of Tamil cinema about Burmese Tamils and their different culture and the reasons behind the mass evictions from Burma to India. Right from Sivaji\’s first character in Parasakthi to today\’s Anegan Dhanush, we have had multiple films regarding them.

Rajkumar Perisamy\’s Rangoon is one such film which has its lead actors as Burmese Tamil and we even have an actor owning the pre-mentioned Atho/Moinga shop in the movie.

From the trailer, we could perceive that Gautham Karthik is a Burmese Tamil descendant and lives happy-go life with his two friends played by Lallu of Chennai-28 and Complicated Kadhal Short film fame and Daniel Annie Pope who is famously known for his \”Romba Sumaar Moonji Kumaru\” role in Idharkku thane aasaipattaai balakumara. Debutant Sana plays as the love interest of Gautham Karthik.

One line of the movie according to the trailer seems to be a happy Burmese Tamil youngster gets caught into illegal smuggling along with his friends in Rangoon and how and if he escapes the betrayal and saves himself and his friends from the problem. The movie seems to have all commercial elements like Friendship between guys, love, suspense, betrayal and fights and if balances right, this could be a clean commercial entertainer.

Cinematography by Anish TharunKumar is great and importantly, Rangoon shots are beautifully shot and wide used palette of colors are eye-catching. BGM by talented Vishal Chandrasekar is intense and this guy has a lot of potentials. Editing is done by G.K. Prasanna and the trailer edit shows his prowess. Dialogues are great and the dialogue \”Panam nijam illa Venkat.. Nijam mathri\” is one example.

Overall, the movie has all elements to be a successful venture and if it sheds out the similarities between Ayan first half and proves to be different, this movie could turn to be a hit for the young hero and his talented friends.
