The talented Jiiva is back after few not-so-great movies and this time in a genre tested and overused in Tamil cinema – Horror.
The story is nothing new and the premise is also overused – Newly bought house, ghost resides in the same house and why and how the ghost is pushed out of the house.
We have Radhika, Sri Divya, Soori and many more known artists along with Jiiva and as this seems t be another horror-comedy than pure horror, the interest actually fizzles out and also, most of the movie scenes resemble Aranmanai series. and we forgot to mention but reminded after Aranmanai\’s reference, Kovai Sarala is also part of the movie who earlier featured in similar Muni and Aranmanai series.
Sridivya looks fresh and scope of using talented Jiiva, who has given great performances in Raam & Ee, is very limited. Soori\’s comedy might add to the plus of the movie and there is also a possibility that it could be the complete letdown of the movie.
Any regular Tamil movie could guess the movie director by just watching the trailer and yes, D. Imman has composed the music and the music seems to be the usual Imman sort. Cinematography and tones look to be doing what it has to do. This movie has been produced by Atlee and we could see few Vijay fans supporting the movie already, which can happen only in Tamil cinema.
Finally, there seems to a pivotal role done by another actor in the movie and you can have a look at him by 23 to 24 seconds of the trailer.
We, at Currently Globally, just hope such movies reduce and make way for quality horror movies like Maya and Yavarum Nalam. Horror comedies have come more than enough and look to be overused in Tamil cinema. Let\’s just hope this movie has something else in it sleeves to prove us wrong.
