We know that our Bollywood actresses are competing with each other about acting, dressing, style and to grab offers from Bollywood and Hollywood as well. But the latest news about few actresses leaves us a question to ask that, are they competing with each other for controversies too???
We all might be remembering the incident that happened a week ago in which Priyanka Chopra, our Bollywood star who is now being active in Hollywood was criticized by the Indian public for showing too much skin, that too in front of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, during their meeting in Berlin. Since it is possessed as a disrespectful mean for the Indians to meet the PM, in a knee-length dress, the actress was accused of it by the public. The public outrage at Priyanka was too high, which was totally unnecessary in my opinion as it\’s one\’s own like and dislike to decide upon what he/she should wear.
When Priyanka posted a picture of herself with the PM, people took issue with the way she sat and the fact that she was wearing a short dress showing her legs. Priyanka did not hesitate to get angered upon the traditionalists who claimed that she was disrespecting the PM. Many people leaped to her defense, saying those criticisms were merely on jealousy and the narrow mindset of people. The former Miss world was also attacked on social medias for her leg exposing. Many commented that it is an insult to Modi and his \’pious followers\’.
As a revenge taking, the unapologetic actress responded to the public who insulted her by posting a picture of herself with her mother wearing a short dress on \’Instagram\’ captioning \”legs for the day\”. She cleverly did not choose to respond directly to people and that became a \”classy act\” of her. The post received more than 100000 \”likes\” in a few hours.
Later on the following week, the equally famous Bollywood-Hollywood actress Deepika Padukone was criticized by the public for her latest photoshoot for the \’Maxim Magazine\’. The actress flaunted a white two piece in the picture and soon after she uploaded the picture on her social media pages, negative comments started rushing in. Tabloids mainly targetted her skin color and fat which shamed her a lot.
The news heated up when an Instagram user commented to Deepika, \”What is she wearing?? Looks like diaper [sic]\”. Later many started commenting that the picture is one among the worst of her and some just said \”Bullshit\”. A twitterrati even went to teach the global icon how to and how not to dress up. She tweeted that \”Tryna wear something class!!! Hope you learn something from Sonam Kapoor\”. The worst among the comments were that saying \”Don\’t be a porn star\”. The comment follows saying, \”Don\’t destroy your admiration which India has reaching a level of dislike from an icon is not a path to be followed!\”. The public who found a new prey left Priyanka and started outraging at Deepika.
Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are the two leading actresses whose career is leading rocket fast among the other actresses of Bollywood. Many looks at their growth with envy. As they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity, the controversies have given a hike in their popularity level also. But what do these controversies tell us?
Are people too narrow-minded here?
Are people happy to abuse celebrities due to the hidden jealousy?

Anyway we could say that media and the public is being keen about each and every movement of the celebrities has been all set to react against even the slightest faults of them as that is all what they always does rather than using the advantages of social medias and other means to upgrade the standards of the country or for any other good causes.
