The State of Tamilnadu and Art of Thermocol | Currently Globally Opinion

Tamilnadu – The land of intellectuals and extraordinary leaders. Industrial developments, Educational developments and best public transport all over India. One of the major IT hubs of the country and one of the best harbors of the country.

But, today?

The entire state is embarrassed about everything that happens and the proud Tamilnadu is becoming a mockery of other states.

After former CM J. Jayalalitha, who was an enigmatic leader\’s demise, the mockery of people and constitution started beginning with the selection of next CM and next leader for the party. It was a musical chair situation for CM post and we had Paneerselvam, almost Sasikala, Edapadi and a possibility of TTV Dinakaran and even Deepa, whose only qualification in politics was being the niece of former CM.

Amidst all these round-robin situations and fight for what is considered to be more important than farmer\’s plight and growing crime rate, MLAs, MPs of ruling AIADMK party are struggling hard to get back their party electoral symbol, \”Two Leaves\”.

The real losers in all these troubles weren\’t two factions, oh sorry, three factions of AIADMK  (Sasikala / TTV Dinakaran or OPS or EPS) or Deepa but, people of Tamilnadu.

For last few months, all reality shows of Tamil channels are losing their TRPs to the biggest reality show of all, Current affairs of Tamilnadu.

We have public raising against the state-owned liquor chain TASMAC and we have police oppressing it and we have a group of farmers in New Delhi struggling hard against the Central government for their loan waivers and benefits. Water scarcity seems to be at the highest than ever in recent times and we have towns and villages where drinking water is supplied only weekly once.

So, our brilliant politicians who are already making the entire state and a laughing stock came up with a brilliant plan to save water from evaporating from the Vaigai river reservoir.

Wait for it!!

To cover the whole reservoir with Thermocol.

Yes. The white substance used for artworks and decoration and chemically called polystyrene.

The highly evolved brains came at work for the common cause and decided that when the sun comes directly in contact with water, it makes the water evaporate in this hard times. What if we are able to cover the water and avoid sun\’s direct contact. Evaporation is reduced and more water for everyone. Yaay!! So, the highly skilled minds worked together under a minister of Tamilnadu and taped bundles of Thermocol together with Sellotapes and took the newly designated \”Evaporation Protector\” and pushed it over Vaigai river.

But, alas, as with all brilliant inventions and scientists, a small, yes a small, slip occurred as water which is a liquid accompanied with the evil wind, pushed Thermocol one over the other and pushed them to river bed making the grand invention a failure.

Mind you people. The experiment wasn\’t a sarcastic news but, real news and we had IAS, IPS and other highly educated people during the implementation of this idea.

As the old Tamil proverb, Oru paanai sothuku, oru soru patham. (One grain of rice is sufficient to save if the whole pot has cooked), this is one incident which clearly portrays the current state of Tamilnadu. Also, we actually read reports that like polyethylene (Polyethene), polystyrene (Thermocol) is highly polluting object of the environment and we have already officially pushed loads of them in the river that satisfies people\’s water needs.

We at Currently Globally, sincerely hope that the brilliant leaders we chose will plan to the following wonderful ideas,

  • Clean the dirty marina beach by covering with Polyethene as the same way we do with our car seats and beds for years together.
  • Push diluted soap water into the remains of grand Cauvery so that we will have the pollutions removed and better use Vim bar as it is highly effective.
  • To avoid Mount road from breaking and forming giant holes, cover it with river sand in loads so, they will fill the holes if formed.
  • To avoid Chennai airport\’s wings from and beams from breaking, use long sticks used in wedding tent decorations to stand a support beam.
On a serious note, we have only one thing to say with a heavy heart after seeing all the circus that\’s happening in our beloved state due to the leaders we actually chose. The same thing P.S. Veerappa said and you know what we mean.
